Abstract

Based on the researcher in SMAN 3 Tambusai Utara, students learning outcomes in writing descriptive text class X SMAN 3 Tambusai Utara was still relatively low. This case needed to solve. The purposed of this research was to know the effect of Using TPS (Think – Pair – Share) Strategy on Students‘ Writing Skill of Descriptive Text at the Tenth Grade of SMAN 3 Tambusai Utara. The research method used was Experimental design, Post Test Only Design. Sampling was used with the Random Sampling technique. The research sample were 40 students of class X. The control class sampled 20 students and the experimental class was 20 students. The results of the study This experiment showed significant results in the final test using the TPS strategy. Here shows the type of test used is Independent Sample T-test. This is because data was considered normal and homogeneous, with criteria (sig) smaller than (α) at a significant degree of 5%. Finally, there was a significant effect on the use of using TPS (Think – Pair – Share) Strategy on Students‘ Writ ing Skill of Descriptive text.
