Abstract

The low interest and learning outcomes of students in physics learning at SMA Negeri 3 Rambah Hilir are caused by teaching methods that are still teachercentered, such as lectures, which make students passive and less attentive to the material. This condition is reinforced by observations in class X1, which show that most students have not achieved the Minimum Passing Criteria (KKM) of 75. This study aims to determine the application of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by Student Worksheets (LKPD) in improving student learning outcomes on Newton's Laws material. The method used is quantitative with a pre-experimental type and a one-group pretest and posttest design. The number of research subjects is 34 students. The results of the study indicate that the application of the PBL model assisted by LKPD is effective in improving learning outcomes, as shown by an increase in the average score from 65.1% (pretest) to 88.43% (posttest), with a normalized gain of 0.67 in the moderate category. Classical mastery also increased significantly from 8.82% to 91.17%, so it can be concluded that there is an improvement in student learning outcomes using the Problem-Based Learning model assisted by LKPD, which can be applied in class X of SMA Negeri 3 Rambah Hilir
