Abstract

This research aimed to determine whether the Action Learning Method significantly affected students‘ speaking skills at the eighth grade of SMPN 6 Kunto Darussalam. This research was Pre-Experimental Design. It used One Group Pretest-Post-test Design research. The data analysis technique used by this researcher was statistical analysis, namely descriptive analysis. The researcher used a total sampling technique. These samples include all students in the eighth grade of SMPN 6 Kunto Darussalam, totalling 18 students. The instruments used to collect the data were observation, speaking tests, and interviews. The finding of the research was that there was a significant effect of the used Action Learning Method on students‘ speaking skills. Here is the type of test used Paired Sample t-test. It could be seen that the result of hypothesis testing was 0.000. It was lowered than α = 0.05. And the result t-value = 11.038 and t-table = 2.110. It was t-value > t-table, meaning Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. The Action Learning Method had a significant effect on students' speaking skills. It means that through the action learning method, the students' learning outcomes in students‘ ability increase, and by using this method, students become active in learning. Based on the researched results, it could be concluded that the Action Learning Method affects the students‘ speaking skills of SMPN 6 Kunto Darussalam
