Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the students' skills in identifying the parts of speech of the eleventh-grade students MAS Al-Fata. 33 samples joined in this research. The Instrumentation of this research used a reading text. Thirty questions were given to the students who were asked to identify the underlined words taken from the text. The result of the research indicated that nine students scored 70, which is considered a good level. Additionally, nine students scored 60, placing them in the average level. Ten students who scored 50, categorized as poor level, and five students scored 40, which is also considered poor level. There were no students who achieved a score in the category excellent level. From the calculation of the student scores above, the researcher then analyzed the average of their scores to find out the students‟ reading comprehension skills in the descriptive text of this research. The students‟ average score in this research was 57.52, categorizing it as Fair Level.
