Abstract
The purpose of this research was to examine the Effect of Watching Video Toward Students Motivation in Learning English at Eighth Grade Students of SMP N 3 Rambah Samo in Academic Years Of 2017/2018. The design of this research is quasi experimental research design. The research used cluster random sampling technique with the sample is 42 students. This study uses SPSS version 22 to analyze the data. The results of this experimental study showed that there was no significant influence in the final test with the study. After analyzing the data by using independent sample ttest, the data showed that there was no significant difference post-test score between experimental and control classes. The mean score in control class is 58.6000 with the standard deviationis 5.50000, meanwhile in experimental class the mean of post-test score is 67.0000 with standard deviation is 5.40062, with df 40, and t-value is 5,677 with p-value 0.000. Because p-value is 0.000 (smaller) and p-table 5%(0.05). The requirement of hypothesis test is p-value smaller than sig. p-table, and the data shows 0.000 <0.05. Thus the hypothesis alternative (Ha) was accepted, and Null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. In this research we can conclude there was effect watching video toward students motivation in learning English at eighth grade SMP N 3 Rambah Samo.
