Abstract
Oil palm replanting is an effort to rejuvenate plants that have passed their productive age, but this process has an economic impact on independent oil palm farmers due to the temporary loss of income. This condition requires farmer families to have an economic resilience strategy to be able to meet their living needs during the replanting period. This study aims to determine the economic resilience strategy of independent oil palm farmer families in Mahato Village Km 15, North Tambusai District during the replanting period. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The research informants numbered 30 independent oil palm farmers, who were directly affected by the replanting period. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that replanting caused a significant decrease in the income of farmer families. To maintain economic resilience, farmer families implemented income diversification strategies through side jobs, involving family members in economic activities and managing household expenses. This strategy helps farming families survive even in limited economic conditions. This researcher concluded that the economic resilience of farming families during the replanting period is very dependent on the ability to adapt and manage family resources.
