Abstract

This research was analyzed the students’ skill in constructing passive by using Subject Verb Agreement and The Change of Pattern technique in passive voice. In this research, the researcher used descriptive qualitative research. The population of this research was second grade students of SMK N 2 Tambusai Utara in academic year 2015/2016 with the total number of 32 students and samples of this research were 12 students. The researcher used random sampling to take samples that focus on two classes. The instrument in this research used passive voice test. In this research changging active voice to passive voice by using change of pattern and subject verb agreement technique. Based on the test, the average of students is, 3 students got 61-80 in sufficient level. 3 students were got 41-60 in low level and 6 students only were able to achieve 21-40 in very low level. It could be concluded that student’s passive voice ability at second grade students of SMK N 2 Tambusai Utara was very low level.
