Abstract

SMAN 1 Kepenuhan is one of the schools located in Kota Tengah, Kepenuhan District, Rokan Hulu. School activities are closely tied to data entry processes, including the input of student data, teacher data, library records, and student grades. Grades represent the cumulative learning achievement of students over the course of a semester. This cumulative score is an average of daily quizzes, mid-semester exams, and final exams. At SMAN 1 Kepenuhan, the method of processing student grades is still done manually. Daily quizzes, assignments, midterm exams, and final exams are collected on numerous paper sheets, which complicates the grading process for teachers. Therefore, a system is needed to transform the manual process into a digital one by developing a student data processing information system application. This will make the grade processing system at SMAN 1 Kepenuhan more effective, efficient, fast, and accurate. Based on this study, a student grade data processing system was designed. From the system workflow, a Context Diagram and Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) were created, all designed within a single database. The application utilizes MySQL and Microsoft Visual Basic as tools to develop the student grade processing application at SMAN 1 Kepenuhan. With this new information system, a higher level of effectiveness and efficiency can be achieved, benefiting SMAN 1 Kepenuhan. In conclusion, the student data processing information system application has been successfully designed and implemented as a web-based application and can serve as a platform for disseminating information to students.
