Abstract

This researched discussed the various forms of feminism and the struggles that women faced in the poetry of the poets that Maya Angelou chose. This researched was conducted by used feminism theory based on Pamela and claire's theory which classified the types of feminism and the struggled of woman.The data was taken from her selected poems; they were: Still I Rise, phenomenal woman, Equality, and caged bird. It focuses on the words, lines, and stanzas of the poets. This researched was a qualitative descriptive method because the result of the data was word, sentence, and language. The researcher divided the poets into groups according to the problem's focus after gathering data from them. The researcher uses content to assess each piece of data. The findings showed that there were 29 data that contained types of feminism in four poetry. The researcher concluded the types of feminism, and they were: poet Still I Rise (Liberal feminism and Radical feminism), poet Phenomenal Woman (Liberal Feminism, Marxist Feminism, Socialist Feminism, and Radical Feminism), poet Equality (Liberal Feminism, Radical Feminism, and Marxist feminism, and poet Caged Bird (Radical Feminism)
