Abstract

This study aimed to describe the implementation of the English Day Program and its contribution to students' speaking skills at SMA N 1 Rambah. This study employed a descriptive quantitative research design involving students who participated in the English Day Program. Data were collected through questionnaires and supported by interviews and documentation. The questionnaire data were analyzed using descriptive statistics to determine the mean scores and percentages of students' responses regarding the implementation of the English Day Program and their speaking skills. The findings showed that the English Day Program was implemented through various English -speaking activities and contributed positively to students' speaking skills, including pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, fluency, comprehension, and self- confidence. Among these aspects, self-confidence showed the highest level of improvement. The findings also indicated that students experienced several challenges, particularly limited vocabulary, pronunciation difficulties, fear of making mistakes, and lack of confidence when speaking English. In conclusion, the English Day Program contributed positively to the development of students' speaking skills by providing opportunities for students to practice using English in authentic and supportive learning activities.
