Abstract
Public ability to speak constitutes a fundamental linguistic competence for elementary school students, particularly in the context of articulating their quotidian activities in the English language. The objective of this research is to assess students’ oral proficiency in delineating their daily routines through the PIPA Model (Persuasive Informative Performance Assessment). This evaluative framework emphasizes several pivotal components, encompassing the structuring of ideas, comprehensiveness of instructional content, lucidity of explanations, articulation quality, gestural expressions, and the incorporation of visual aids. Employing a descriptive qualitative methodology, the research derives its data from video recordings of students’ oral performances. To ensure equitable evaluation, two assessors analyzed each video utilizing the standardized PIPA rubric. The results demonstrate that students exhibited significant proficiency in pronunciation and non-verbal communication, which fostered their self-assurance and facilitated fluid presentations. Their performance in structuring content, expanding materials, and employing supplementary resources was deemed moderate; however, certain aspects, notably the logical coherence of idea sequencing, necessitate further enhancement. In summation, the incorporation of the PIPA Model into an Android application has proven advantageous for evaluating the oral competencies of young learners and provides actionable insights for educators integrated English instruction.
