Abstract

This research investigates the effectiveness of YouTube content, specifically the mmmEnglish channel, on improving the pronunciation skills of 12th-grade students at SMKN 1 Rambah Samo, focusing on silent letters. The study used a pre-experimental design to involve 54 students who underwent pretests, three treatment sessions, and post-tests. The findings reveal a significant improvement in the students' pronunciation skills. Pretest scores ranged from 20.00 to 54.40, while post-test scores showed a notable increase, ranging from 61.10 to 95.50. The study emphasizes the advantage of multimedia resources in language instruction, demonstrating that YouTube can be a practical educational resource for enhancing pronunciation skills. Interviews with students further indicated a positive perception of learning through YouTube, with many finding it engaging and beneficial for understanding correct pronunciation. This research suggests that educators should consider integrating multimedia resources into their teaching methods to enhance student learning outcomes.
