Abstract

Analysis of the listening ability of eighth semester students in taking the TOEFL Test at the University of Pasir Pengaraian. In this study, the researcher aimed to explore the challenges encountered by individuals during the TOEFL test. A qualitative research method was employed, focusing on a sample of 25 eighth-semester students from the Social Sciences Education program who participated in the TOEFL examination. The results indicate that eighth-semester IPS students face several difficulties in TOEFL listening, including excessively lengthy conversational texts, rapid speaking rates, and a lack of clarity in speech.
