Abstract

This study aimed to determine whether visual learning styles have a significant effect on the understanding of seventh-grade students of SMPN 4 Ujungbatu. The data analysis technique used by this researcher is an experimental research design. The data obtained were taken from VII grade students of SMPN 4 Ujungbatu. The instruments used in collecting data were descriptive text tests and interviews. The population of this study consisted of two. The researcher used a sample of two classes: the experimental and control classes. This study's finding is that using a visual learning style model has a significant effect on students' writing skills. This can be seen from the results of hypothesis testing, which shows the number 0.000. This is smaller than α = 0.05. And the result of t-value = 8.918 and t-table = 2.069. The t-value> t-table means Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Using a visual learning style model in students' writing skill in descriptive text has a significant effect. This means that through the visual learning style model, students' learning outcomes in comprehension in writing and by using this visual learning style model, students can increase their writing skill because of the visual in the form of pictures based on the topic
