Abstract
Reading is an important component that must be mastered in learning English. This research aims to determine the correlation between self-efficacy and students' reading comprehension at sixth semester university of Pasir Pengaraian. The disign method was correlational design.Where the researcher wants to know there was any or nocorrelation between self-efficacy and students' reading comprehension. The data were taken from questioneire test and multiple-choice test. Test was given to 28 students at sixth semester university of Pasir Pengaraian. The data analyze showed that The sig. (2-tailed) value obtained was 0.031 < 0.05. It means that there is correlation between self efficacy and students‘ reading comprehension but not signicantly.This can be seen from the data that selfefficacy has a high category in reading comprehension based on an average of 72.86, from the results of the questionnaire, 32% where 9 students are in the very high category, and finally 68% of which 19 students are in the high category. The reading test results, they were 9 students got the excellent category (32%), 7 students got the good category, namely (25%), 8 students got the sufficient category, namely (29%), and 7% for 2 students in the low category and finally (7%) for 2 students in the very low category. From the data above researchers can conclude that the student reading comprehension is goodcategory with an average score of 71.25.The value of coefficient correlation (rxy)obtained was 0.408, and the correlation index table falls into the category of low correlation
