Abstract

In morphology, morphemes are the smallest part of a word. Even so, morphemes are divided into two, namely derivational morphemes and inflectional morphemes. This research will discuss derivational morphemes found in thesis acknowledgement using qualitative descriptive method. The purpose of this research is to find out the types of derivational morphemes in thesis acknowledgement and their functions. From the result of the data analysis, the researcher found four types of derivational morphemes in the thesis acknowledgement, which are noun derivation, verb derivation, adjective derivation and adverb derivation. In this study, researchers also found the types of derivation morphemes that are dominantly used and those that are rarely used.
