Abstract
Catfish farming is one of the freshwater aquaculture activities that has considerable economic potential for rural communities. This study aims to analyze the income level and business feasibility of catfish farming in Kota Raya Village, Kunto Darussalam District. The research was conducted in October 2025 using a descriptive quantitative and qualitative approach. The data used consisted of primary data obtained through observation, questionnaires, and documentation, as well as secondary data obtained from relevant institutions. Data analysis was carried out by calculating production costs, total revenue, business income, and business feasibility using the R/C Ratio and B/C Ratio. The results showed that the catfish farming business managed by the Karang Taruna group experienced an increase in income from IDR 2,687,500 in 2022 to IDR 4,150,000 in 2025. The R/C Ratio ranged from 1.40 to 1.46 and the B/C Ratio ranged from 0.40 to 0.46, indicating that the business was profitable and feasible to continue. In contrast, the catfish farming business owned by Mr. Sumiran experienced a decline in income and even suffered losses in 2024 and 2025, with an R/C Ratio below 1 and a negative B/C Ratio. These findings indicate that the success of catfish farming businesses is influenced by production management, cost efficiency, and stability of harvest yields. Therefore, improving farming management and the efficiency of production inputs are important factors in enhancing the sustainability of catfish farming businesses at the community level
