Abstract

Speaking was one of the language skills that every student should master to be competent in communication. The researcher was interested in assessing students’ informative speech. This research aims to assess students’ informative speech at the English Vaganza Competition 2023 by PIPA model. The research was done at the English Vaganza Competition. The researcher designed a descriptive method that allows the researcher to describe a phenomenon by presenting the facts in rich detail without attempting to interpret them. The sample was nine students. To select the sample, the researcher used total sampling. In collecting the data, the researcher used recording video. The researcher used the PIPA (persuasive, informative presentation assessment) model to analyse the data. From the analysis of the data of three raters in all aspects, The result of students’ informative speech at the English Vaganza Competition is students got advanced category English Vaganza Competition 2023 because the organization, supporting material, content, articulation, nonverbal communication, and visual aid average in the advanced category because, before the performance of their speech, they prepared well and assisted by their tutor from their school.
