Abstract

The paper focused on the probability of accident severity toward motorcyclist. The accidents were caused by road, environment. Samples of 104 respondents have an accidents severity and they have been interviewed. The attributes influence the probability of accidents severity, such as road marking, visibility, weather, road surfacing, the level of the road, roadside variability. The structure of bayesian network model show 15% severely injured, and 85% mildly injured. New samples of 34 respondents needed to an accuracy of the model are used to account the value of Mean Absolute Deviation (MAD). The result of validation showed that the value of MAD was 24.71%. There were four scenarios to reduce the risk of severely injured. 1) If the driver view is unobstructed, the probability of severely injured will reduce 2%. 2) If the weather is sunny the probability of severely injured will reduce 1%. 3) If the road has road marking the probability of severely injured will reduce 8%. 4) If condition 1 until 3 are combined the probability of severely injured will reduce 11%.
